2026 Town Meeting

The 2026 Calais Town Meeting will take place at the Calais Elementary School, 321 Lightening Ridge Road, on March 3 from 9:30 am until finish.

Voting by Australian ballot will take place at the Calais Elementary School from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm.

Early Voting - Requesting a Ballot

  • Calais Town ballots and WCUUSD ballots will be automatically mailed to all active, registered voters by early February. If you have not received these ballots by mid-February, please contact the Town Office at 802-456-8720 or townclerk@calaisvermont.gov
  • You must request a CVCC ballot if you would like to vote on that before election day. CVCC ballots will be available by the beginning of February.
    • To request that a CVCC ballot be mailed to you, please contact the Calais Town Office at 456-8720 or townclerk@calaisvermont.gov. You may also request mailed ballots for other members of your household. We will not mail ballots out after February 15, as it is questionable that there will be time for the ballot to be mailed out to the voter and back to the Town Office before election day.

    • To pick up a ballot in person, please visit the Calais Town Office during regular business hours, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. You may pick up a ballot only for yourself. If you request a ballot for a family member not present with you, we are required to mail the ballot to the voter's address in our voter registration records.

    • You may also vote in person at the Calais Town Office during regular business hours.

Early Voting - Returning a Ballot

  • You may return your ballot(s) by mail using the envelopes provided to you.

  • You may return your ballot(s) in their signed, sealed envelopes at any time to the secure drop box in the vestibule of the Town Office.

  • You may return your ballot(s) in their signed, sealed envelopes to the Town Office staff during regular business hours, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

  • You may bring your ballot(s) to the polling place, Calais Elementary School, on March 3, 2026, and vote at that time.

If you do not plan to vote until Town Meeting Day, PLEASE BYOB - Bring Your Own Ballots (the ones that were mailed to you) - to the polling place.
