TOWN MEETING DAY RESULTS:
All articles voted from the floor passed as written.
Australian ballot elections, 348 ballots cast:
- Selectboard, 3-year term: Christy Mihaly, 297 votes
- Selectboard, 2-year term: Barbara McAndrew, 205 write-in votes
- Lister, 3-year term: John McCullough, 320 votes

The 2025 Calais Town Meeting will take place at the Calais Elementary School, 321 Lightening Ridge Road, on March 4 from 9:30 am until finish.
Voting by Australian ballot will take place at the Calais Elementary School from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm.
Town Meeting Day
For those who are unable to attend Town Meeting in person, you may watch in real time using Zoom at:

Please note that the Zoom option will be for observing only. Due to state law, persons attending through Zoom may not actively participate in the meeting.
Lunch will be provided by the Friends of Calais; if you would like to contribute a dish or volunteer to help, please email barbarabutlervt@gmail.com.
Childcare will be available at no cost for parents attending Calais Town Meeting from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Registration is required; forms are available at CES or through Community Connections. The Town Report, election warnings, sample ballots, and the voter checklist are available as links below. They are also posted at the Calais Town Office, Adamant Co-op, East Calais General Store, East Calais Post Office, and the Maple Corner Store.

Offices to be elected by Australian ballot:
- Lister – 3-year term (ending 2028)
Candidate: John McCullough - Selectboard – 3-year term (ending 2028)
Candidate: Christy Mihaly - Selectboard – 2-year term (ending 2027)
Please note: No persons submitted candidate paperwork for the 2-year Selectboard term. Any resident may run a write-in campaign in order to be elected. A write-in candidate must have the most votes for their seat and have at least 15 votes (1% of Calais registered voters) in order to be elected.
Offices to be elected from the floor at Town Meeting 2025 (No Consent of Candidate or Nominating Petition required):
- Moderator – 1-year term (ending 2026)
- Cemetery Commissioner – 5-year term (ending 2030)
- Trustee of Public Funds – 3-year term (ending 2028)
Early Voting
No ballots will be automatically mailed this year. Ballots are now available by request. You may request any of the following: the Calais ballot, the WCUUSD ballot, and the CVCC ballot.
The deadline has passed for requesting that ballots be mailed to voters. You may pick them up at the Town Office to vote at your convenience, or vote in person at the Town Office.
You may also wait and vote in person as usual on Town Meeting Day.
If you request early ballots but do not return them before Town Meeting Day, please bring your ballots with you to vote them at Town Meeting.
