No prior knowledge or experience needed!  The presentation will focus on the high level concepts and practical usage.

I will also be providing an overview of the CIRCLE UP network of radio operators we are building throughout the community that activates when there are power outages or emergencies to relay any urgent needs from their neighborhood or village and provide local first-hand accounts of conditions when needed (for instance washed out roads during flooding).  We are using affordable and accessible GMRS radios, and you can join our network too!

Topics covered:

Basic radio operation and etiquette

How to improve your signal quality and actually reach someone

Types of radios and radio services (FRS/GMRS/HAM)

Application: Community emergency radio network (CIRCLE UP)

CTCSS and 'Privacy Tones'

Repeater Basics
…and More!

If you are interested and unable to attend then reach out. I will be recording the presentation and will have my slides available for reference after the presentation.
