The election to vote on the proposed bond for the construction of a new Central Vermont Career Center campus will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the Calais Town Office (NOT the Town Hall) from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
A sample ballot, a copy of the warning, the voter checklist as of the end of September, and other voter information has been posted at the Adamant Co-op, the East Calais General Store, East Calais Post Office, the Maple Corner Community Store, and the Calais Town Office.
***Please talk to your neighbors and make sure they know about this election! Because it is an odd-numbered year, some people may not realize that there will be any kind of election that day.***

Voters are strongly encouraged to vote in person during regular business hours at the Town Office.

Requesting an Absentee Ballot:
- Voters may NO LONGER request that a ballot be mailed to them. It is questionable that there will be time for the ballot to be mailed out to the voter and back to the Town Office before election day.
- Voters may pick up a ballot from the Town Office at any time during business hours before election day to vote at home or in the office. A voter may not pick up a blank ballot from the Town Office for anyone except themself. Please contact the Town Office if you are unable to come during regular hours and we can make arrangements to get you a ballot.
- Voters may vote in person at the Town Office during regular business hours.
- Voters who are physically unable to come to the Town Office may request that a ballot be brought to them. Two Justices of the Peace will deliver the ballot to the voter's home and return the voted, sealed, signed ballot back to the Town Office. Returning an Absentee Ballot
- Voters may return a voted ballot by mail up until Friday, October 24, in order to ensure that we receive your ballot in time for it to count.
- Voters may return completed, sealed ballots to the Town Office any time before the close of polls at 7:00 pm on November 4; outside of office hours, please deposit voted ballots in the secure office drop box in the Town Office vestibule.
The Town Office will be closed for all business except voting on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
