Board of Civil Authority
The Board of Civil Authority hears tax appeals, purges/adds names to the voter checklist, conducts elections, administers oaths of office, performs recounts. The BCA members, along with the listers, are also members of the Board of Tax Abatement.
The Board of Civil Authority consists of: all members of the Selectboard, all Justices of the Peace and the Town Clerk.
For elections, BCA members use as reference the Vermont Election Procedures Guide, updated for even-numbered years.
